Aft Cabins An Overview

Aft Cabins: An Overview

What are Aft Cabins?

Aft cabins are a cabin type which is situated at the back or aft part of a cruise ship. For instance the front of a cruise ship is known as the forward while the rear of a ship is called the aft. Hence, aft cabins are located at the rear of the ship.

Aft Cabins vs Forward Cabins

When you book a cruise you're often able to choose the specific cabin that you'll stay in. One of the decisions you'll need to make is whether you want an aft cabin or a forward cabin. There are a few key differences between these two types of cabins:

Location: As mentioned earlier, aft cabins are located at the back of the ship while forward cabins are located at the front of the ship.

Views: Aft cabins typically have views of the ship's wake and the ocean behind the ship. Forward cabins typically have views of the ship's bow and the ocean ahead of the ship.

Noise: Aft cabins are typically quieter than forward cabins because they are further away from the ship's engines and propellers. Forward cabins can be noisier because they are closer to the ship's engines and propellers.

Motion: Aft cabins are typically less prone to motion sickness than forward cabins because they are located in a part of the ship that is less affected by the ship's movement.
